Mahuki is the project of guitarist, composer, and producer Honza Kourimsky, a Czech-born artist whose work bridges performance, production, education and artistic leadership. Kourimsky has been nominated for the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award, Scottish Jazz Awards, Made in Scotland Award, and Creative Scotland’s Open Fund for Creatives, and his music has been featured on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Scotland, Jazz FM UK, Classic FM Prague, and RFI France. Beyond the stage, he served as Production Director for the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival & DjangoFest Northwest, and is the author of Tapping Discovered, published by the Guitar & Music Institute. Mahuki’s music draws from jazz, rock, funk, and Eastern European music traditions, reflecting a practice rooted in experimentation, spirituality, and cross-cultural exchange.
